City of Valley Grande hosted Independence Day Fireworks show on Sunday night

The City of Valley Grande held its annual Fourth of July fireworks the day before Independence Day.
Residents from Valley Grande, Selma and other parts of Dallas County filled the parking lots of Valley Grande ball field, Valley Grande Pharmacy and Valley Grande Baptist Church to watch the fireworks under a moonlit sky and muggy evening.
Valley Grande City Councilwoman Sara Day, who’s in charge of the Walking Trail and Community Events, said she was pleased with how things turned out.
“We had a huge crowd turnout to watch the fireworks,” Day said. “Everyone I spoke to loved it.’
Before the fireworks began, people bought snow cones and soft serve ice cream
The fireworks were produced by Pyro Productions, formerly known as J&M Displays.
“Pyro Productions put on a really great show for us,” Day said.
Day also thanked the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department and the Valley Grande Volunteer Fire Department for their assistance. with the fireworks show being successful.
Valley Grande Councilwoman Kay Davidson said she also great compliments.
“Thanks to everyone who came out for the fireworks show,” Davidson said. “ It was an amazing show and we are so thankful the rain held off! Many thanks to Sara Day for her efforts in making sure the event was a success.”
