Selma man dies in two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon

A Selma man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Monday around 3:30 p.m.
Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reported that Tyler G. Goolsby, 28, was fatally injured when the 2003 GMC Envoy he was driving struck a 2006 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Torey R. Ross, 39, of Jackson, Mississippi. Goolsby was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The wreck happened on U.S. 80 near the 81 mile marker, less than one mile west of Selma. The eastbound lane of U.S. 80 at the intersection of Alabama 14 was blocked for a few hours until law enforcement cleared the scene.
No further details are available as Troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the accident.
