Meadowview Christian School student Jaiveon Savage-Irwin spent part of the month at Rice University in Houston.
Savage-Irwin attended the National Youth Leadership Forum: Engineering for two weeks at Rice.
Savage-Irwin, who will be a senior at MCS for the upcoming school year, said he was nominated by MCS Counselor Donna Hollis. “Attending the forum was fun, I feel great about it,” Savage-Irwin said. “It gave me one on one experience to prepare for college. I have the experience of staying at a college before I attend one next year.”
Savage-Irwin is an honor student, posting a 3.99 GPA and 22 score on the ACT. He also plays basketball for the Trojans.
After graduating from MCS next spring, Savage-Irwin said that he plans to major in Electrical Engineering.
