Madya Pearl Billingsley, age 82, of Montgomery, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022. Madya was born to Joseph Randolph and Fannie Lou Godwin. Mrs. Billingsley was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 50 years, John Albert Billingsley. She is survived by her children, Timothy Billingsley and Christy (Rob) Haynes; her grandchildren, Andrew Joshua and Simon Joseph Haynes; her sister, Lynda (Dave) McDanel and a niece Cindy Hill. A cheerleader who later organized the Carlowville High School reunion, Madya was very social and enjoyed being around people. As a young woman she volunteered at the USO, then later volunteered within the schools of her children. She stayed active doing yard work, visiting friends and neighbors. She will be remembered as a wonderful daughter, a great big sister, a loving wife and mother, and a faithful friend. A family and friends visitation for Madya will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 at1 p.m. at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109 followed by a celebration of life graveside service at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109.
