ArtsRevive celebrated 20 years at the Alabama Artists Roots and Wings show on Thursday night.

Ashley Bond, Dori Boyd, Casey Roberts, Trish Gober Aaron Head and Kristen Law led the talented Selma and Dallas County artists whose work was on display and admired by guests in attendance. The room had a packed audience throughout the show, which pleased ArtsRevive President Ruth Talton.

“I think the show was wonderful,” Talton said. “I’m thankful for the people that support ArtsRevive. We build our community through art. I’m thankful that Vicky Stoudemire and AC Reeves for starting ArtsRevive.”

Roberts said he’s grateful for having art in the Roots and Wings show  that features 89 pieces from artists either locally or across the state that runs for the next three weekends, Saturdays10 a.m.-2 p.m.., Sundays, 2-4 p.m.

“It’s fabulous and wonderful to get my work put in Roots and Wings,” Roberts said.

Bond said she was amazed and excited to have her work competing in the 21st Roots and Wings show.

ArtsRevive Executive Director Becky Youngblood said the Roots and Wings show was successful.

“We had a fabulous night at the roots and wings show,” Youngblood said. “We got a tremendous amount of new memberships and I think its the largest crowd we ever had.

“I am delighted to see the arts community in Selma grow. It was awesome that we were able to go to AC’s Five and Dime, then walk down the street to Arts Revive. A large amount of the crowd did both shows, so it was a neat Selma art night.”
