Jean F. Worthington, age 79, of Selma, passed away on May 1, 2011.

She is preceded by her husband of 47 years: Rev. Carol Worthington; son: Ricky Worthington: and granddaughter: Robyn Worthington.

Mrs. Worthington is survived by her daughter: Gail (Joe) Nettles; sons: Mickey (Ede) Worthington and Bill (Dianne) Worthington; and brother: Thomas (Brenda) Franklin of Luverne, AL; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Jean Worthington spent her life as a hairdresser and was a church hostess for many years at Elkdale Baptist Church where she was well known and loved.

Services will be held at Elkdale Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 with Rev. Guy Anderson and Rev. Cory Horton officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 from 6 – 8 p.m.

Pallbearers are: Brett McMahan, Nicholas McMahan, Joel Worthington, Ricky Worthington, Justin Worthington, and Mike McCoy.
