The widow of former Selma Mayor George Evans will be offered a position on the Selma Waterworks Sewer Board.
The subject was discussed at Thursday at the Selma City Council Work Session by Councilwoman Christie Thomas, who’s on the board.
Jeannie Evans, wife of former Selma Mayor George Evans, will be asked to replace her late husband’s position on the board at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting.
Council members present at the work session were City Council President Billy Young, council members Christie Thomas, Jannie Thomas, Lesia James and Troy Harvill.
The meeting was shortened to 20 minutes because no one in the Citizens’ Request did not appear: Faya Toure, Jessica Perez and Bernice Jackson. They will be on the agenda for the city council meeting.
