The City of Selma reached a franchise agreement with Charter Communications last week.
A public hearing was held on June 13 at the Selma Council Chambers, which Selma Mayor James Perkins Jr. and the entire Selma City Council attended.
The franchise agreement recently expired and both sides wanted the deal renewed.
LeMarkus Snow of Snow’s Cleaning Service questioned Smith about the power boxes and meters being dangerous for kids in neighborhoods. Smith told Snow that it will be addressed.
Robert Smith, Senior Manager of Government Relations at Charter Communications and another official attended the meeting.
Selma City Councilmen Atkin Jemison and Michael Johnson both questioned Smith about the company doing things in the community. Smith said no.
