Dallas County Commission holds Public Hearing on CR 447, 448

The Dallas County Commission held a public hearing for vacating portions of County Roads 447 and 448 on Monday in the Dallas County Courthouse.

Burt Odom, Joel Wood and Mike Wood were the ones affected by the hearing because they owned properties in that area.

They did not speak at the hearing and were represented by Attorney Allen Reeves.

No one talked during the public hearing.

During the Dallas County Commission meeting, the Commissioners approved 5-0 for Resolution 2023-07-1, vacation of roadway.

Dallas County Attorney John Kelly presided over the hearing.

The entire Commission was present: Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn, Commissioners Curtis Williams, Jan Justice, Vivian Rogers and Connell Towns.

Kelly also had two Resolutions approved by the Commission:

-Appointment of Jeannie Evans to the Dallas County Board of Human Resources. Evans is the widow of former Selma Mayor George Evans, who died earlier this year.

-Appointment of Commissioner Jan Justice to the Appointment of Legislative committee.

Dallas County Administrator Barbara Harrell had two Resolutions approved:

-June Budget Revisions.

-Transfer and lease  defibrillator to Selma Medical Associates.

Dallas County Engineer William Bridges’ ‘ Resolution authorizing Dallas County to join the Southeast Alabama Region Annual Joint Bid was approved.
