Morgan Academy found a replacement for former girls and boys head basketball coach Lebo Jones.
Chris Williams was named the Senators’ new head coach.
Williams is coming to the Queen City by way of Brewbaker Tech where he was the Head Coach for the Track and field team. His basketball coaching history has sent him to schools throughout Nevada and Maryland and now to Selma.
In 2014, he was the Clark County High School Division 1A Regional Coach of the Year and Sunrise Coach of the Year.
In 2011 he was Charles County’s Girls 3A (SMAC) All-Star Head Coach and in 2004 was ranked number one in AAU 14U Girls basketball as Head Coach where his team set the AAU scoring record with 133 points in a qualifier game in the state of Maryland.
Williams also has coached football as well as track. Most notably he was the Head Coach for the Men’s Military Base Team for the United States Air Force when he was stationed in Hawaii.
In 2019-2022 he coached track at Brewbaker Tech, Lanier and Carver High in Hurdles/Jumps and Relays. He will leave the track and field and return to the basketball court where the Senators look to get past the elite eight where their season ended last year.
