Southside High School recently held a 50-year reunion For the Class of 1973.
Alumni from the class of 73 came back to their old stomping grounds and enjoyed some food and reminisced about the good times when they were students at Southside. Some of the alumni still live in Selma while others traveled from other states to make the 50-year reunion. Southside High School Principal Cedric Brown said it was an honor to have the alumni in the school again.
“Oh, what a milestone! It was a pleasure to host such a fabulous group of elders,” Brown said. “Some of them still reside in Selma while others have moved away. I really enjoyed them with sharing good old times as well as traditions through the years.
“True Panther Pride at its best. As a matter of fact, they already reached out to begin planning for 2025. Congratulations to the class of 1973. Truly a Golden Year Graduation! Go Panthers! Looking forward to hearing from all classes as they near 50 years of excellence”
Dallas County Superintendent Anthony Sampson was also in attendance for the reunion and he went to social media afterward to send his congratulations out to the class of 1973.
“Congratulations to the Southside High School Class of 1973 on your Golden Reunion,” Sampson said in the post. Dallas County Schools has a long and proud legacy of graduates. The Brunch was fabulous.”
