Selma University hosts Zeta Phi Beta Sorority program

The Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated spent this week in Birmingham, where Dr. Denisha L. Hendricks, 31st International Chair of the sorority’s board of directors, presided over their Quarter One International Board of Directors Meeting. Members are now set to embark on a Civil Rights history tour of Alabama, traveling to Montgomery and Selma this weekend.

Lynda Blackmon Lowery, the youngest person to take part in the Selma to Montgomery March and renowned author of “Turning 15 on the Road to Freedom,” will be speaking at a program at Selma University at 11 a.m. Saturday morning. Lowery is a member of Zeta Phi Beta.

Zeta Phi Beta members will also walk across the Edmond Pettis Bridge to honor late Congressman John Lewis, member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.

The Zeta Phi Beta trip will end in Montgomery, visiting the National Memorial for Peace and Justice and the Legacy Museum.
