Two guest speakers will open the Selma Quarterback Club season on Monday night.
Jeff Shearer, Auburn University Director of Strategic Communications; Aaron Suttles, Director of Content for Yea Alabama, will be the first two guest speakers.
Meetings will start at 6 p.m. at the George P. Evans Building.
Shearer and Suttles will be talking about the Tigers and Crimson Tide football programs,
Shearer joined Auburn Athletics in 2016 after serving as Sports Director at WSFA-TV. He spent nearly 25 years at the NBC affiliate.
Shearer and his wife, Rhonda, are the parents of two Auburn graduates, Sara Schiller and Meagan Love.
Suttles is best-known in the state covering the University of Alabama for the Tuscaloosa News and The Athletic for over a decade. Suttles also wrote a book, “The Program Alabama: A Curated History of the Crimson Tide.”
Suttles is a key contributor at Yea Alabama, which serves as Alabama’s official name, image and likeness “entity.’’
Jay McPhillips, the executive director of Yea Alabama, said Suttles’ role is to provide deep dives into Alabama’s biggest stars and lesser-known athletes who have captivating stories to tell, and Suttles’ experiences makes him a solid fit for that role.
