St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Selma is preparing for its annual Lobsterfest fundraiser on Thursday, Sept. 21. All profits from this year will go toward our Respite program, known as WINGS (Walking In God’s Spirit). This program is for dementia patients, and gives their caregivers a respite for a day. Various activities and lunch are provided for our guests, with volunteers helping with all.
Live lobsters are flown in from Maine and steamed at the church the evening of the event. Dine-in seatings are at 6pm or 7:30 p.m. The dinner includes salad, lobster, potatoes, bread and dessert, along with beverages served before and during the meal. The cost for dine-in tickets is $45/person. Take-out is also available from 5-7 p.m, at $40/person.
This fundraiser involves many volunteers from St. Paul’s to pull it all together and provide a fun evening and delicious food for everyone!
Organizers are grateful to our Corporate sponsors who have reserved tables for 8 or 10 people. Sponsors so far are First Cahawba Bank, Talton Communications, Selcom, and Vaughan Regional Medical Center. Corporate tables are still available until Sept. 7th.
Tickets MUST be purchased in advance to order the lobsters no later than Monday, Sept. 18. so make reservations early. Tickets are available at the church office, located at 210 Lauderdale Street, or from any member of St. Paul’s. Office hours are Monday-Thursday, from 9am-4pm.
