Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn canceled the monthly Dallas County Commission on Monday because of the COVID-19 resurgence in Dallas County.
Dallas County Emergency Management Agency Director Toya Crusoe made the announcement on Monday.
At the end of last week, Dallas County officials instituted a mask mandate at county buildings that deal with the public.
Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn said the policy was put in place because of the huge increase in COVID-19 new cases throughout the area. Nunn said the purpose of the change is to keep Dallas County residents safe and added that the mask-mandate will remain in place in those buildings as long as COVID cases continue to climb.
Nunn said the Dallas County Commision meeting will be rescheduled at a later date.
