The Audit for the City of Valley Grande gets underway next month.
Valley Grande Mayor Wayne Labbe said the audit process will begin on Oct. 16.
“It takes a two-week process to get stuff up from the previous year,” Labbe said.
Labbe told the City Council members- Kay Davidson, Sara Day, Bruce Hughes, Robby Rose and Treasurer Kim Harris- that he did not expect any problems to arise during the audit.
The Valley Grande City Council received a clean audit from the Jackson-Thornton accounting firm last year.
Chris Neuenschwander and Katie Vega Schmidt of Jackson-Thornton gave the city high marks when they discussed the audit in January saying they were impressed with the city’s finances.
Valley Grande had a true equity of $4 million with revenue of $1.3 million last year.
The next Valley Grande city council meeting is Monday, Oct. 2 at 5 p.m. at Valley Grande City Hall.
