Spring blooms activities

With spring coming on, plenty of activities abound for folks in Selma and Dallas County. All you have to do is take a look at the community calendar inside The Selma Times-Journal and on the calendar at selmatimesjournal.com.
For instance, next week will feature the Art Walk, an opportunity for people to stretch their legs and look at the best this area, and Alabama, have to offer. Bain Hanning will have his first public art show next Friday.
If you’re more into looking up your roots, then the Third Annual African-American Genealogy Conference will intrigue you. It’s set for 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Carl C. Morgan Convention Center.
And more is coming.
ArtsRevive is bringing the Montgomery Ballet back for an evening of dance. If you enjoyed the “Nutcracker,” you’ll enjoy this next performance.
It’s beyond us why people hang their heads and say there’s nothing to do in Selma. And, in this short space we’ve pointed out only a couple of upcoming events.
Lift your head. Take a look around.
Selma is packed full of interesting events nearly every day and you don’t have to travel too far to find them.
