First Cahawba Bank won the Safe Harbor Women’s Medical Clinic’s Battle of the Banks competition and was awarded first place for raising $1,045.66.
“We do a Baby Bottle Campaign every year in January to coincide with Sanctity of Human Life Day,” Safe Harbor Medical Clinic Director Jennifer Dobbs said. “We were trying to figure out a way to reach the community and raise awareness about Safe Harbor and what we do outside of the churches and that’s how we came up with the Battle of the Banks.”
First Cahawba Bank Teller Geraldine Givan said the competition developed between the tellers to raise over $1,000.
“We worked very hard,” Givan said. “We are very competitive and we helped each other.”
ASE Credit Union, and Mutual Savings Credit Union also competed.
“We thank all the participating banks and the community for supporting Safe Harbor Women’s Medical Clinic in the 2023 Battle of the Banks,” said Candice Irwin, Safe Harbor Medical Clinic’s Community relations manager.
