Dallas County clinches berth in Volleyball Regionals

Dallas County High School punched its ticket to the Class 4A Regional volleyball tournament.
The Lady Hornets beat Wilcox Central in three sets, but lost to LAMP 3-0 in the tournament finals. LAMP was the tournament’s host team.
“Reaching the Regionals feels good, but it reminds us that our work isn’t done yet,” Lady Hornets coach David Hobson said.
“Our girls have worked hard to get where we are, but we have to work that much harder. Spider man said, ‘With great power comes great responsibility.’”
Dallas County players are: Tiara Brown, Madison Hood, Khloe Purdie, La’Charia Hosea, AnnaBelle Garzee, Na’Kaiya Stubbs, Keyonna McGhee, Alicyia Hosea, Kensley Browder Brittany Robinson and Janera Cowan.
In other tournament action involving Dallas County schools:
-Southside lost to Sumter Central 3-1 at the Area 5, Class 3A tournament hosted by Greensboro on Wednesday.
-In the Area 6, Class 1A tournament semifinals played at University Charter, R.C. Hatch beat Keith 3-2. The Lady Bears’ season ended with the elimination.
– In the Area 6, Class 5A tournament semifinals played at Montgomery Academy, Demopolis swept Selma in three sets. The Lady Saints’ season ended with the defeat.
