The City of Orrville overcame a brief rainstorm for its annual Christmas Parade on Saturday.
Over a dozen floats made the drive downtown Orrville as an overflow crowd of residents greeted them.
Orrvllle Mayor Louvenia Lumpkin, Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn, Dallas County Commissioner Curtis Williams, Orrville Fire Department, Keith Middle School cheerleaders and Salem Elementary School cheerleaders rall had floats and represented Orrville.
Salem Elementary School Cheerleading coach Jawanna Milhouse said her squad always enjoy being around the town, especially Keith High School.
“Salem Elementary is a part of Keith,” Milhouse said. “When kids leave Salem Elementary, they go to Keith Middle and High School. They cheerlead at some of Keith’s events.”
Curent and former Keith High School students attended the parade.
The Orrville parade also drew participation from other parts of Dallas County, including Valley Grande Volunteer Fire Department, cheerleaders from Edgewood Elementary School, and Southside High School band and cheerleaders.
“This is our second year being in the Orrville Parade and we enjoy it,” Valley Grande Firefighter Billy Barrett said.
