Three Dallas County High School seniors landed scholarships from Alabama State University (ASU) on Nov.30.
Ayden Thomas, Ebony Carter, and Li’ Donna Woods earned a combined $100,000 in scholarship funds from ASU.
Dallas County Schools Superintendent Anthony Sampson said he’s proud of the three students getting a chance for college.
“It’s so exciting to see students rewarded for academic achievement,” Sampson said. “Keep up the great work. This is only the beginning.”
Selma City Schools Education Specialist Mariama DeRamus said the scholarship recipients displayed potential at a younger age in the SCS system.
“These inspiring young ladies have been breaking down barriers and making strides since Brantley Elementary School,” DeRamus said.
