The Order of Eastern Star (OES) Salem Pride Chapter #509 in Orrville and Dallas County Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. adopted Keith Middle and High School on Jan. 24.
The OES and Gamma Alpha Alpha Zeta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta donated school supplies to the middle school and high school students.
“We enjoyed our visit to Keith,” Zeta member Shelly McGee said. “They have great students, great parents, great teachers and great administrators. Go Bears.”
Tommy TIsdale, Jr., Principal of Keith Middle and High School, said the school appreciates the donations by both organizations.
Zeta member Constance Hendricks said the Dallas County chapter adopts a school for a two-year commitment.
“We began with Ellwood Christian Academy, then Salem Elementary School,” Hendricks said. “We are in our second year with Keith Middle and High School. As a small chapter, we strategically make efforts to address the needs of the students. Consequently, we held our school supplies until spring when there might be an unmet need for supplies. In the fall, students receive excess and are often wasteful.”
