The Dallas County Commission approved several resolutions at its Feb. 12 meeting.

Dallas County Administrator Barbara Harrell had four resolutions approved, highlighted by the Jim Minor Garden Homes bad debt write-off of $32,000 for former tenants. A landscaping bid was awarded to Fix-It-Nix ($32,000 with Jim Minor Garden Homes, $24,000 without). January budget revisions and County levies for alcohol licensing were also approved.

Dallas County Attorney John Kelly had three resolutions approved, including a $7,400 refund to Vaughan Regional Medical Center (VRMC) for sales taxes wrongfully paid on durable medical equipment. Tanya Miles was approved for appointment to the Dallas County E-911 Communications Board  Amendment I , which the Alabama County Commission Association (ACCA) wanted in its laws in the March 5 election, was also approved. 

Dallas County Engineer Anthony Crear’s resolution to accept an auction proposal from E-Wood was approved. Five dump trucks bought in 2022 were sold for the March 19-22 auction for $1 million, with 7% interest. The county will receive $988,000 of that amount, which Nunn said is slightly more than what they bought for. They were purchased at over $800,000.

The entire commission was present: Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn, Commissioners Curtis Williams, Jan Justice, Vivian Rogers and Connel Towns.
