Keith High guard Trey Tisdale will play his final high school basketball game this weekend.

Tisdale will compete for Alabama at the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star game on March 9 at Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi. The senior was one of 11 players picked to represent Alabama.

Tisdale, who averaged 26 points, seven rebounds and six assists a game, said it was about working hard, but Bears head coach Marcus Turner has a different explanation.

“He’s worked extremely hard for it and it’s well deserved,” Turner said.

Tisdale is the third Dallas County player picked for the game, since Keith’s John Pettway in 2016. The other area player selected during this time was William Lee of Dallas County High School in 2014.

Tisdale will be playing alongside other high-profile players, including Fairhope guard Spence Sims and Huntsville 6-foot-10 center Caleb Harrison. Sims signed with Alabama, Harrison is headed to Samford.

The Alabama boys’ all-star coaches are Patrick Harding of Buckhorn High School and Marshon Harper of Valley High School. Saraland’s Dru Powell is the boys’ administrative coach.

The Alabama girls are coached by Hewitt-Trussville’s Tonya Hunter and Natasha Smallwood of Susan Moore High School. Tammy West of Cold Springs High School is Alabama’s administrative coach.

Alabama swept the series last year with Alabama’s girls beating Mississippi 88-74 to improve to 19-14 in the series. The boys won 91-72 and now hold an 18-15 in the series.
