Bosco Nutrition of Edmunite Missions held a healthy recipe taste-testing demonstration on March 13 at Dollar General.
LaTanya Lawrence, director of Bosco Nutrition, said it is about providing a healthy lifestyle for Selma residents. A sampling of chicken fried rice was served by Lawrence and her Administrative Assistant, Destiny Underwood.
“We’re trying to teach Selma they can have a healthy meal and it can come from Dollar General,” Lawrence said.
Underwood said a chicken fried meal at Dollar General costs $12.55 for a family of eight.
“It means a lot being out here to show Selma residents they can eat healthy with everything they can buy from Dollar General,” Underwood said.
