Tipton-Durant Middle School wins Jubilee Book Quiz Bowl

Tipton-Durant Middle School hosted the Bridge Crossing Jubilee Book Review Quiz Bowl on Feb. 29.
Keith Middle, R.B. Hudson STEAM Academy, and Martin Middle School also competed in the event entitled, “A Time to Know’ Our Stories, Our Victories, Our Possibilities.”
“The Voting History Bowl is important, it educates our scholars on the history of the Voting Rights Movement and why it is important to register and vote when they are 18 years of age as well as demonstrates the scholar’s understanding of this history and how lessons learned can be applied in their school and community,” said Jubilee youth events coordinator Yomi Goodall.
Tipton-Durant won first place with the team of LaRonnicka Allen, Kassidy Davis, Australia McQueen and Jazz’e Andrews. Aryle Washington was their sponsor.
- R.B. Hudson was led by the team of Morgan Griffen, Ciara Perkins, Khi Byrd and MaKayla Thomas. Quinnya Dower was their sponsor.
- Keith Middle was led by the team of Lillian Kimbrough, Journey Williams, Kendall Vaughn and Jacqueria Terrel. Kiesela Foster was their sponsor
- Martin Middle- was led by the team of Peyton Johnson, Colby Herrob, Jamalya Barnett-Peterson and Kameron Jackson. Alisha Cleveland was their sponsor.
Rose Sanders, a co-founder of the Jubilee, presented the winners with $100 each.
Other participants received $25 each. Wanda Tyler was the coordinator of this event.
