A recap of the Easter Egg hunt and purchasing playground equipment highlighted the Valley Grande City Council meeting on Monday.
Day, who’s in charge of special; events, said she was pleased with the March 23 egg hunt.
“We had 9,000 eggs get picked up in six minutes,” Council Member Sara Day said. “We had a great turnout. The weather was great.”
The only new business order was the playground equipment between two companies, BOSS out of Texas and Willie Goat in Birmingham. Mayor Wayne Labbe presented the city council with a plan from both businesses, pointing out strengths and weaknesses. The council will continue its discussion before going out to bids. Either company will cost the city over $50,000.
The entire council was present, including Labbe; council members Day, Kay Davidson, Jane Harris, Bruce Hughes and Robby Rose; and treasurer Kim Harris.
In other business, Labbe said that Valley Grande is modifying its website and social media page. He also said that an online survey and application will be part of the package.
The next Valley Grande city council meeting will be held at 5 p.m. April 15 at city hall.
