Vaughan Regional Medical Center (VRMC) and Innovative Renal Care (IRC) have partnered to open a new dialysis center.
VRMC has in-center hemodialysis (ICHD), peritoneal dialysis (PD), and home hemodialysis (HD) for patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Long-time community nephrologist Kent Taylor, MD, from Vaughan Nephrology, serves as the Medical Director for the center.
“We are thrilled to provide state-of-the-art dialysis services to our local community in a beautiful, patient-centered environment,” VRMC CEO David McCormack said. “The goal of our care team is to make each patient feel comfortable and supported holistically through their treatment journey. We offer guidance and education ranging from navigation of insurance to managing a healthy diet.”
Innovative Renal Care CEO Nick Mendez said his company is glad to work with VRMC.
“Our collaboration aims at offering enhanced patient outcomes, contributing to an increased quality of life for patients with end-stage renal disease in Central Alabama,” Mendez said. “By offering eight in-center stations and options for peritoneal dialysis or home hemodialysis, patients have some flexibility in choosing the type of treatment that best fits their lifestyle,”
A grand opening with the Selma and Dallas County Chamber of Commerce is being planned in the community later this spring.
