Vaughan Regional Medical Center and Innovative Renal Care held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday to celebrate the opening of its kidney care facility.
VRMC officials held an open house and facility tour of Vaughan Kidney Care Dialysis Center to guests who attended the ceremony. The Selma-Dallas County Chamber of Commerce hosted the event.
“You’ve got to sit there for several hours so we want to make patients very comfortable,” VRMC CEO David McCormack said. “Because if you don’t come when you’re supposed to you get into a crisis. So, we want to make people want to come.”
“It’s a comfortable place with good up-to-the-point care.”
IRC and VRMC affiliated with ScionHealth, partnered together for the new center.
“Having a dialysis clinic that is close to your home makes a huge difference in a community like this,” IRC regional vice president Seun Adewale said.
The new center has 10 stations, including heated massage dialysis chairs, cable TV in each chair, and wireless internet access.
Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn and Selma City Councilwoman Jannie Thomas both attended the ribbon cutting. Nunn and Thomas both said they always want to support local businesses.
Vaughan Kidney Care is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. It is located at 1360 E. Highland Ave. in the Selma Center shopping area across from the Selma Mall. For more information about dialysis services or the clinic, please call 334-876-0076.
