Selma, Orrville, Valley Grande set Fourth of July plans

Dallas County residents will get three opportunities to see fireworks shows during the Fourth of July holiday.
Selma, Valley Grande and Orrville will have separate fireworks shows between July 3 and Independence Day.
- Selma will have a downtown Street Fair at Riverfront Park and Water Avenue from July 3 to 7. A fireworks and concert kickoff show will be held at the Riverfront Amphitheater on July 3, with performances by July Moon and ItIs Barack at 8 p.m.
Danielle Wooten, City of Selma planning and development director, anticipates a strong showing for all events.
- At Valley Grande, a fireworks show will be held on July 3 at 9 p.m. at Valley Grande ballpark. Snacks will be sold out of the concession stand at the ballpark.
Councilwoman Sara Day, in charge of special events in Valley Grande, said she expects a strong turnout.
- Orrville’s fireworks show will be held on July 4 at 8 p.m. at the Orrville Community Center.
The Selma City Hall and Dallas County Courthouse will be closed on July 5, extending the Fourth of July weekend. The Dallas County Commission and Selma City Council each approved the decision to extend the holiday weekend at their respective meetings.
