The City of Orrville’s Fourth of July fireworks show is an annual family tradition for the Watters Family at the Orrville Community Center.
Orrville City Councilwoman candidate Lula Watters and her daughter Jarlicia Watters welcomed a newcomer to the event, Jarlicia’s one-year-old daughter, Maciyah Gooden.
Jarlicia Watters, a 2023 Keith High School graduate and a 2022 finalist for The Selma Times-Journal’s Gridiron cover contest, said the fireworks show is huge for her family. Watters’ sister is Orrville Mayor Louvenia Lumpkin.
“The fireworks show is a big event for Maciyah to attend,” Jarlicia Watters said. “She likes to hear explosive things.”
Over the years, Watters said the Orrville always attracts residents in Selma, Valley Grande, and other parts of Dallas County.
“People in Orrville and Safford always look forward to our fireworks show,” Watters said.
