Selma City Schools community engagement/family engagement specialist Cynthia Milledge was named one of the recipients of the National School Public Relations Association’s Golden Achievement Award on July 14 in Seattle.
The teacher recruitment campaign for Milledge was “Join One of the Most Historic and Rewarding Districts in the Black Belt.”
Among the people Milledge thanked included SCS Superintendent Dr. Zickeyous Byrd and former human resource director Aubrey Brett Larkin.
“I couldn’t fulfill this mission alone. God placed several people in my path,” Milledge said. “I remain humbled and appreciative to Superintendent Zickeyous Byrd for trusting me to fulfill the challenge when he presented the idea to me. I am grateful to the school system’s former human resource director, Aubrey Brett Larkin, for his collaborative efforts. A special thank you to Dee Jackson, who always supports my vivid, wild and creative imagination.”
