The talented, hard-working group is a strong mix of players in Selma and Dallas County: Jaden Sullivan (Meadowview Elementary), Cajun Pritchett (Edgewood Elementary), Aidan Wright (Edgewood Elementary), Malachi Hosea (Valley Grande Elementary), Jacob Solomon (Valley Grande Elementary), Lance Ward (John T. Andre Lamar, Cajun Pritchett, & John B. Solomon are the coaches.
“This is an opportunity for our young men to experience baseball and all the pageantry that comes with it at a high level,” Solomon said. “The coaches and players are excited about this grand opportunity.’’
Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn and the Commissioners, Curtis Williams, Jan Justice, Vivian Rogers and Connell Towns all said they were happy for the team’s success at the commission meeting on July 8.
Solomon said the team is seeking donations for its trip to Louisiana: meals, traveling and lodging. Here are ways to give donations: Checks can be made out to John Brandon Solomon, Zelle: John Solomon (johnbrandon27@gmail.com), Cashapp: $jbsolo27.
Payments can be mailed to: 2115 Lauderdale Street, Selma, AL 36701
“It is our goal as recreational coaches and administrators to offer them more than just baseball,” Solomon said. “Our goal is to give them a chance to see what the world has to offer outside of what they see on a daily basis.”
