Selma, Keith to open volleyball season
The Selma Lady Saints will face off against the Keith Lady Bears in this year’s season opener Thursday August 22, at 5 p.m. at Selma High School. Tickets available on Go Fan.
Attendance campaign kicks off for Selma City Schools
Tuesday began the first week of a 40-day school attendance campaign for Selma City Schools. Consistent attendance at school is crucial for academic achievement. Regular participation enables students to engage fully in their learning, stay informed about class material, and create routines for their future endeavors.
Helping scholars soar event deemed successful
The Selma City School District would like to thank all the barbers and braiders for participating in our Operation Help Our Scholars Soar event on Monday, August 5. Thanks to each of them for donating his/her services for “free,” our scholars returned to class looking good and having positive attitudes. This is just a reminder for the young ladies who received a voucher from Jessica Brown, Zoey Edwards, or Lateshia Rivers for a hair braiding session: The offer expires on September 5, so make sure to redeem it before then.
Richardson makes history
Aniyah Richardson became the first “scholarship” volleyball player from Keith High School to participate in a collegiate match on Monday.
DCHS homecoming set
Dallas County High School will celebrate its homecoming on October 18. More information will be released as it gets closer.
SCS hosts interest meeting for flag football
Selma City Schools will host an interest meeting for flag football on Wednesday, August 21, at 4 p.m. in the Selma High School media center.
