The Selma Police Department is searching for answers after a Selma man died at the hospital after being shot on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford said officers were called to Vaughan Regional Medical Center on Tuesday to the room of Dashon McCants, 32, of Selma. He was being prepared to be airlifted when he died from the gunshot wound.
“The victim was brought to the hospital in a personal vehicle,” Fulford said. “When we got to the hospital, that person had already left.”
Fulford said they were not able to obtain any information on where the incident occurred or what may have led to the shooting.
“Right now, we are searching for a crime scene,” Fulford said.
The Selma Police Department is asking if anyone has any information that you believe will help with the investigation to call 334-876-1273.
