Keith Middle High School has increased its security guidelines for the Bears’ homecoming game against Billingsley on Friday night.
According to the school Facebook page, all spectators must pass through one single gate and be subject to search. They are also implementing a clear bag policy.
“In the best interest of public safety, Keith Middle High will enforce a ‘clear bag’ policy for those entering the stadium on game day,” the school stated. “This policy intends to enhance security measures and provide a safer game day/tailgating experience for fans and players alike.”
Gates will not open for spectators until 4 p.m. and will be searched prior to entering the stadium.
“A (visible) custom arm band is required at all times during the game,” the school said. “Spectators are not allowed to bring any outside food, drinks and coolers of any sort into the event space.”
Tailgating will also be limited during the game. They are encouraging tailgaters to be set up by 4 p.m. Friday. The game will kick off at 7 p.m.
“Setup can begin at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, until 6 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Gates will open at 4 p.m. (All items for your tailgate should be in place by 4 p.m. Please plan accordingly.),” the school stated. “No vehicles will be allowed in the tailgating area. (No outside coolers/food etc. will be allowed after the allotted time.) Breakdown will begin at the start of the fourth quarter. Tailgating will end with the game.”
