The family of a man who has been missing since Monday, Nov. 4, is asking the community for help in locating him.
Alford Smiley, 57, has been missing since Monday, Nov. 4, when he checked out of the Budget Inn on Highland Avenue, according to family member Latisha Rivers.
Rivers said Smiley’s car was also still located at the Comfort Inn, but there is nothing inside the vehicle at this time.
“He has several medical issues,” Rivers said. “He has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and diabetes. He takes insulin and other pills. We haven’t heard from him in over a week. We need help in locating where he is.”
Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford said Wednesday that the missing persons report was filed on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 12.
“We have assigned the case to a detective,” Fulford said.
Anyone with information on Smiley’s whereabouts are asked to call the Selma Police Department or to call Rivers at 334-207-6098.
