Earlier this week, Meadowview Christian School, off of Old Orrville Road, released a letter to the families of its active students, addressing the concerns of their school possibly closing.

The Selma Times-Journal obtained a copy of the letter that was distributed to parents and guardians of the students at the school.

The letter from the board of directors stated they are aware of the rumors circulating in the community about the school, but currently, they have no intent to close the school in December.

“As many of you are aware, we are experiencing financial difficulties due to low enrollment, inflationary pressures and unforeseen expenses. We are doing everything we can to address these issues including the reallocation of funds,” stated the MCS Board of Directors in a letter to parents.

The letter also stated that this may cause a disruption for extracurricular activities and events and we are looking at all options to minimize these disruptions.

The school said early spring of the upcoming school year, they plan to send out a letter of intent for the fall, that will discuss enrollment and said the plan behind that is geared to planning and budgeting for the school’s upcoming future.

If parents or members within the community have any questions, the school is encouraging them to email Board President Brian Manley at tprmanley@gmail.com.
