Edmundite Missions is a Christ- based nonprofit within the community geared toward providing community members relief from poverty and homelessness and now, they have launched a groundbreaking program in the city for postpartum families.
“Our goal is to engage 150 families over the course of three years by focusing on improved nutrition, enhanced fitness, and emotional stability which are essential foundations for building strong and healthy families.”
The missions’ organization has three different sectors to help push their efforts to make this program a success by first, collaborating with Vaughan Regional Medical Center and local pediatricians within the area to reach families early and offer vital resources.
Next, they will host cooking classes with a staff member of the organization named Latonyia, who will emphasize healthy meals.
Within the community enrichment sector, they will also host fitness classes that include private postpartum fitness sessions which could include a reward offering of diapers to moms who participate while building trust through group support and creating a network of mothers sharing solutions.
Lastly, they will provide ongoing quality assurance which will ensure that they meet families’ needs with surveys, advisory insights with high-quality programming.
“This unique program will nurture both physical and emotional well-being, empowering families to thrive during the critical first year of their child’s life,” said Edmundite Missions’ through an online statement.
