Ms. Mary Curtis of Montgomery announces the engagement of her daughter, Hope Denise Curtis, to William Kenneth Hicks Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. William K. Hicks of Selma.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Mrs. Dottie Curtis and the late Mr. William F. Curtis of Opelika. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Harris of Goshen, the late Mrs. Eleanor Curtis of Luverne and the late Mr. Alvin Curtis of Huntsville. Miss Curtis received her B.S. from Huntingdon College and her J.D. from Jones School of law. She is a shareholder with the law firm of Webb and Eley in Montgomery.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rosa of Montgomery and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Hicks of Selma. Mr. Hicks received his B.S. from the University of South Alabama and is currently employed as a field claims specialist with Strategic Comp. in Montgomery.

The wedding will be Jan. 31, 2009, at First United Methodist Church in Montgomery.
