Last week, Dallas County Sheriff Harris Huffman made the announcement that the county would participate in the Yellow Dot program.
This week, the program will begin making the rounds.
The program will kick off June 4 at the Sardis Volunteer Fire Department from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Dallas County Emergency Management Agency director Rhonda Abbott said she hopes people will take advantage of the upcoming opportunities.
“This program requires each citizen sacrifice a small amount of time, which could in turn play a huge role in saving their own life,” she said. “It is a win-win; it provides individuals a voice, when perhaps they cannot communicate, and it provides first responders a visual as well as critical lifesaving information to help save lives.
“The best part is, it costs absolutely nothing.”
Other enrollments will be held June 8 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the River Oaks Volunteer Fire Dept. and June 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Valley Grande Volunteer Fire Dept. June enrollments continue June 14 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Greater St. Paul Baptist Church, June 15 from 1 to 7 p.m. at Orrville City Hall, June 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Summerfield Volunteer Fire Dept., June 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the G.W.C. Nutrition Center, June 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Potters Station Volunteer Fire Dept. and June 29 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the YMCA in Selma.
