Music will fill the air at TaylorZville Saturday night when recording artists Jeff Floyd and Vick Allen hit the stage.
The concert, which will feature blues music, is scheduled for Saturday, June 11, with doors opening at 8 p.m.
The concert marks the first Southern Soul Night, something Michael Dillard said he hopes will continue to grow into a yearly event.
“We hope we can get even more events going in the future,” he said.
Zuheir Dabit, whose store On Time Fashion serves as a ticket outlet in addition to Calhoun Foods and One Stop Music in Selma, said they would also like to incorporate other genres into future concerts.
“We might get some rock music and other stuff in there too,” Dabit said. “We want to do whatever we can to get a lot of different people together.”
Floyd is a familiar face on the Southern Soul circuit. He is best known for his single “I Found Love (On a Lonely Highway).”
Floyd has been consistently ranked among the top five artists searched for on the Top 100 Soul Artists Chart.
Allen is known for his most recent single “If They Can Beat Me Rockin.’” The song won Best Mid-Tempo Song of the Year and No. 1 Southern Soul Single at the Southern Soul Music Awards.
Tickets are $20 in advance, while V.I.P. tickets are available for $30. The show time is 9 p.m.
