The Selma Police Department is seeking help from the community to remove a known drug dealer from the streets.
Selma Chief of Police William T. Riley said the Selma Police Department, in conjunction with federal agents, secured warrants on Daniel Louis McReynolds, also known as “Little Rock,” on charges of securing cocaine with the intent to distribute.
McReynolds, Riley said, is a black male, standing 5 feet 7 inches tall, approximately 170 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. He said McReynolds is considered armed and dangerous.
“This operation has been ongoing with a number of man-hours put in,” Riley said. “He is a known distributor of narcotics within the city of Selma and the surrounding area, and we would like to encourage people if they see him to call us on the main number, Crime Stoppers or call 911. We want to arrest this individual as soon as possible.”
This operation, Riley said, is similar to the investigation that helped the department confiscate weapons and drugs on Church Street in May.
During that investigation officers recovered several long rifles, $6,000 in cash and an undetermined amount of crack cocaine and marijuana from two residences in the 1400 block of Church St.
“We looked at it in the same way,” he said. “It was an investigation that took time, but those investigations are worth it to get these individuals and get them locked up.”
Anyone with information on McReynolds is encouraged to call the department at 874-2120, the secret witness hotline at 874-2190 or the Crime Stoppers toll free line at 1-800-442-7463.
