AAA Alabama reports the best price on regular-grade and diesel gasoline is Statesville Grocery Citgo on Alabama Highway 14.

The report was filed on Friday. AAA lists Statesville as charging $3.659 per gallon for regular gasoline and $3.959 for diesel. The Citgo station’s price for regular is about a quarter cheaper than the area’s average listed by the fuel report.

However, the area average this week is about eight cents lower than last week, but about 36 cents higher than what Selma and Dallas County motorists paid during August, according to AAA.

That means the average cost to fuel a vehicle with a 15-gallon tank of regular-grade gasoline is $58.57, compared to $53.14 last month. Last year, the area average of regular-grade gasoline per gallon was $2.815, meaning the average cost to fuel a vehicle with a 15-gallon tank of regular-grade gasoline cost $42.23.
