Eliza Vasser Sherrer died peacefully at Wesley Manor Nursing Home, Dothan, AL on

June 15, 2011.  She was 90.

Services will be held at Milton Baptist Church (Milton Community), Autauga County Rd.1, Jones, AL on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at 2:00 pm, conducted by Thomas E. Cooper.

Visitation will be held prior to the services beginning at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Formerly from Milton and Selma, AL, she was born in Jones, AL on April 6, 1921 and had resided in Dothan since 2006.  Eliza Sherrer was a dedicated wife, motherand grandmother. She taught Sunday school and kept the nursery at Milton Baptist for many years.  In addition to enjoying cooking and crocheting, she loved caring for many of the children in Milton community.

She was preceded in death by husband William Alton Sherrer, Sr.; parents Oscar and Edith Vasser; daughter Brenda Sherrer; brothers Gene and Lamar Vasser; and sisters, Sue Taylor and Edith Caver.

Survivors include sons, William Alton Sherrer, Jr. (Pat), Dothan, AL and Timothy Keith Sherrer (Teri), Tylertown, MS; grandchildren Chris Sherrer (Julieanne), Cumming, GA; Amy Sherrer Teston (Greg), Albany, GA; Will Sherrer, Dothan, AL; Leslie Sherrer Fortinberry (Jared), Huntsville, AL; and Wesley Sherrer, Tylertown, MS; great grandchildren Blake and Kaitlyn Fortinberry.
