The Alabama Ethics Commission says it’s OK for public officials and public employees to receive free tickets to three major sporting events in the Birmingham area. But they can’t be for more than three days of each event.
The commission issued advisory opinions Wednesday that were requested by Gene Hallman, president of the Bruno Event Team.
The commission said tickets to the Southeastern Conference Baseball Tournament, Regions Charity Classic golf tournament, and Magic City Classic football game are OK, but the state ethics law puts a three-day limit on the hospitality.
