Calvin Lee Smith III

Calvin Lee was born in Mobile, Alabama to Calvin Lee Smith III and Susie Young Smith on June 20, 1938.

Calvin Lee confessed his life to Christ at an early age. He was a devoted husband, father, son, and friend.

He is preceded in death by father Calvin Lee Smith III.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Bertha Smith; his mother Susie Young who resides at Warren Manor Nursing home; five children, Townsend Asberry of Cleveland, Ohio, Susie Lewis of Philadelphia, PA., Alvin Smith of Philadelphia, PA., Ava Marie James and Christopher Jerome Smith I of Jersey City, New Jersey; stepdaughter, Mattie Lumpkin (Curtis) of Selma; one son-in-law Randolph Jones of Selma; mother-in-law, Mattie Boswell of Orrville;  brothers, Samuel (Cynthia) Smith , Thaddeus Smith, and Cyrus (Towanda) Smith ;  sisters, Autherine Thompson, Doris Pickett, Theresa  (Michael) Madison, and Mary Smith all of Mobile; nine brothers-in-laws, five sisters-in-laws, thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews. Other relatives include longtime devoted friend Mattie Washington of Mobile, AL; numerous cousins from the Starks, Merchant, Vaughan , and Smith families.

Services will be held Saturday, July 16, 2011, 1:00 p.m. at Siloam Baptist Church directed by Rev. John Lumpkin. Burial will follow in Smith Cemetery directed by J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home.
