Mrs. Laura J. Brown, 46, resident of Selma, passed away July 23, 2011 at Vaughan Regional Hospital. Services are scheduled for June 30, 2011, 1:00 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Raymond C. Brown.

Survivors include spouse Michael J. Brown; parents Ruby N. Carter; two sons, John G. Carter and Lamar D. Carter; two daughters, Rubie L. Carter and Ashley R. Carter; three brothers, Charles Carter, Willie Grimes, and Jesse Thomas; five sisters, Annie Woods, Brenda J. Carter, Valerie Brown, Ruby Carter, and Bernice Shaw; eight grandchildren, tow brothers-in-laws, a host of nieces and nephews.
