Attorney General Troy King&8217;s office has returned the Hollman case back to the Dallas County district attorney without review.
King&8217;s office also has declined to handle the case, according to District Attorney Michael Jackson.
Walter Hollman Jr. and his grandson, Kourtney Gordon, were charged nearly a year ago with resisting arrest by Selma police officers.
Hollman and Gordon claimed the officers used excessive force by hitting Hollman in the leg twice with a flashlight and spraying him with pepper spray.
Gordon claimed he also was sprayed with pepper spray.
The police officers said they were doing their jobs. However, a report filed by the Alabama Bureau of Investigation stated that officers did not fill out a Use of Force report on Gordon or Hollman.
The ABI recommended the district attorney present the case to the grand jury. Jackson had turned the case over to the attorney general&8217;s office for review.
