SELMA — It’s a new era at Talladega with new rules, new seats and new prices.
To celebrate, Pine Belt Radio Shack, WDXX FM and The Selma Times-Journal have teamed up to give residents of Choctaw, Dallas, Marengo Perry and Wilcox counties an opportunity of a lifetime — two tickets with Pit passes to the April 25 race at Talladega SuperSpeedway and a pre-race, on-track ride in the official Talladega Pace Car.
It’s the Talladega Traffic Jam Sweepstakes, and it’ll kick off April 9 at Pine Belt Radio Shack on Broad Street when a genuine Talladega SuperSpeedway pace car rolls into town. You’ll get to see the car, meet other NASCAR fans and enjoy a live remote from WDXX FM.
But there’s more.
You’ll have opportunities to enter the sweepstakes that day, plus win 25 pairs of tickets to be awarded during WDXX remotes at participating stores in the days leading up to the race. You’ll also have a chance to register by filling out a registration form in The Selma Times-Journal.
“Pine Belt has long had a commitment to all of the communities in our
service area including Selma,” said Pine Belt Radio Shack owner John Nettles. “We are excited to partner with The Selma Times Journal and WDXX to bring a little Talladega excitement to the Black Belt.”
In order to get in on the action all you have to do is fully complete a sweepstakes entry form and drop it in a box at any of the live remotes, Pine Belt Radio Shack or The Selma Times-Journal anytime during business hours March 17 through April 8.
Entry forms will be available in print editions of The Selma Times-Journal, at the remotes and at Pine Belt Radio Shack. Entries are limited to one per person.
“This is another great promotion we’re working in conjunction with The Selma Times-Journal and it really allows the newspaper and radio station to cover the market for our mutual client” said Broadsouth Communications’ President Mike Reynolds. “This also takes the Talladega Traffic Jam we’ve been doing for the last six years to a new level and creates something more exciting for the people of this region.”
The grand prize winner will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received on April 9. There will also be Talladega tickets on sale the day of the event.
So, crank it up and get a move on.
